Released from Captivity

Released from Captivity

In many parts of the world, those we call “men of peace” and “women of peace” are entrusted with Proclaimers to start Audio Bible listening groups. In Chad, the widespread effectiveness of this ministry approach is revealed by both a leader and a participant from villages in distant parts of the country:

“I am a pastor and the man of peace in my village. It is forceful to come and hear the Word of God through the Proclaimer. God worked a miracle by transforming the life of a drunk in my group. Indeed, he was a man of hard character and he often beat his wife and children. But Jesus has altered his life to the point that his wife asked me if she could know what I gave to her husband to change him. Now peace has returned in this place. Jesus is good. Listening to the Word is a great blessing.”

"Today, I feel free."

“Following Audio Bible listening, I was given the grace to find freedom and victory over amulets and fetishes. I became a Christian several years ago, but I did not renounce the fetishes of my parents. I went through difficult times and was even very sick. This led me to seek the Lord by regularly listening to the Word of God through the Proclaimer. I especially held onto the part that tells us to unload all our worries on Christ because he cares for us. I confessed and got rid of the fetishes that I always kept under my bed. Today, I feel free.

My friends and parents told me that I would die soon because I burned my fetishes. Today, on the contrary, I am healthy. Jesus healed me and gave me strength. I invite all Christians who are in fear of fetishes to trust in Jesus, who has the power to release us from all captivity. I want to thank the man of peace for his outstanding work and say thank you to all those who gave us the Proclaimer. It is helping all the illiterate women in our rural area to hear the Word of God without an intermediary. Thank you to Jesus, the King of Kings.”

Teachers in Argentina are embracing the use of Proclaimers in the classroom to bring spiritual growth and understanding to their pupils through Audio Bible listening. One of the teachers wrote: “I’m using the Proclaimer as a working tool for my students – school children – to listen to the stories [of the Bible]. After this, the children participate and think about what they understood. They are very enthusiastic about . . ."

Jesus Speaks Konkomba!

This is a story about the Konkomba in northern Ghana. Morgan Jackson visited 20 villages to see what was happening with the Faith Comes By Hearing Bible listening groups. The villages started with 500 listening groups, almost every church having received Audio Bibles; yet they were asking for more – a thousand more – because they had started more than 1,100 groups. But many churches had been planted so now they needed . . .

Voice auditions for the Kannada New Testament recording were taking place and many people – such as bankers, engineers, teachers, and pastors – had been invited. Though the team was happy with their selections for the major roles of Matthew, Mark, Luke, John, and Jesus, they were a bit disappointed to be missing a talented reader for Paul. Soon after, G. entered the room. However, because a rare accident had . . .
