Because when people hear the Bible, everything changes
Morgan Jackson shares about the tremendous ministry impact of two very special and faithful women that he met while on a recent trip to Cambodia: "Hi, my name is Morgan Jackson, the director of Faith Comes By Hearing, and I wanted to talk to you about a recent trip that I took to Cambodia with my wife Mary and some Asian donors. A leader of her Sanumá village in the Amazon basin, Waikia was part of a regional listening group training and received a Proclaimer to take back to her community. Though she had never seen or heard a Proclaimer before the training, she gathered her husband, children, nieces, and nephews – 18 people altogether – to listen as soon as she arrived home. When she began to turn the handle . . .
"I traveled to Mozambique, where I am involved with a ministry in building an orphanage. The Proclaimer I brought was to be left there (that was my plan). There is a church on the property and they have several weekly Bible studies with people from the surrounding villages, so it made sense to leave the Proclaimer with them. But that was not what the Lord wanted. A ministry team was sent to . . ."
Our friend Pastor Alfred has a very moving reaction to receiving a Proclaimer in the heart language of his people: "Thank you Father. I wish I could just go down to my village and put this before them and say, 'Oh, my brothers, sisters – please come! Come and listen to the Word of God.' Oh . . ."
"The Proclaimers were an incredible blessing to people in the mountain villages of Haiti! Pastor David had selected a few men from his ministry to receive them. It was such a blessing to see the awe and joy on their faces as they heard the Word in their own language, Haitian Creole. My favorite story was about Mathieu, a 16-year-old boy who had been caring for his mother and 4 siblings since . . ."
