Soul-Winning Stand

Soul-Winning Stand

In the often oppressive heat and humidity of Southeast Asia, one amazing woman we’ll call Mony offers both physical and spiritual refreshment to all who pass by. Armed with a Mini Proclaimer and a “maxi” smile, her small roadside stand is stocked with snacks, drinks, half-gallon jugs of gasoline, and the Gospel of Jesus Christ.

Mony greets everyone who comes by, whether customers or not, and invites them to sit with her in the shade and listen – she always has an extra seat. Her little Audio New Testament plays continually as the solar panel charges in the ambient light and the people are attracted to what they hear. Then she shares her own testimony of the work that Christ has done in her life.

She is responsible for winning about 5,000 people to Christ.

Our field partner in the area tells us that she is responsible for winning about 5,000 people to Christ so far, including the entire staff of the mechanic shop next door.

What makes Mony’s story all the more remarkable is that she’s a widow living with a serious medical condition. Praise God that medications are managing her symptoms but, from the kindness and positivity that come from her relationship with Jesus, you’d never know that she had a single struggle in the world.

Before I became a Christian, I had been an epileptic since childhood. One day, I went to listen to the New Testament on a Proclaimer out of curiosity and heard that . . ."
