Never Abandoned

Never Abandoned

“I am a single mother with a daughter and two sons. Three years ago, I received Jesus, thinking that my man would change and that we could be together with the children. In spite of everything, he decided to abandon us, leaving me with three children to raise alone.

I had a lot of resentment and hatred in my heart and never wanted to attend church again. I made the decision to ‘remake’ my life in parties and bars with bad friends – and going out with various men just for the money to put bread on the table for my kids.

In the meantime, my kids were basically abandoned and even went to bed hungry. We would sometimes just cry together. I thought that God had abandoned me, but He never left.

"I really came to know Jesus . . ."

I heard the message through the Proclaimer from some Christian brothers who had received one. They visited me and taught me the message of Christ in my mother tongue. Thanks to Jesus, He healed the hurts in my soul by giving me a profound understanding of His Word.

Previously, I did not understand the Gospel. I had received Jesus only because of my own deception and disappointment; I had attended church just to do a religious thing. But now my life is different, I really came to know Jesus and He has taught me to love and forgive my family and my neighbors.

I am now closer to my children, in spite of all the pain in my past. I will never leave them. We regularly go to church together and I can now smile with my children. God is also blessing me financially.

Thanks to the Proclaimer – it really is a blessing to my life – and thanks to the brothers who teach in Quechua. There are actually very few who teach the Bible in our mother tongue. I just wanted to tell you this little testimony. Please pray for my family and may God bless your lives!”

Within a week, the strangers left. Over the next couple of years, she saw her neighbors who had talked with them listening to a black box. At first she . . .
