Spreading the News
A national worker in Siberia shares: “I have so many testimonies from the villages about the Altai Audio New Testament. It has made a great influence on the public. The Altai-speaking people are interested in it because it is in their mother language and has life instructions.
Many believers call me with requests to send them more Proclaimers, especially for the older generation. We have only one city and about 100 villages in our region, so the village way of living dominates. There are few computers or mobile phones. In spite of this, the younger generation somehow has the new technology.
We have one sister-in-Christ whose mother is 85 years old. Every day she wants to listen to the New Testament recording because she enjoys it and says that God’s Word goes into her heart. All her life she practiced the traditional Altai religion; after hearing the Altai Audio Bible she repented.
The first problem of old people is poor eyesight, so they can’t read. Two old persons even came to our sister-in-Christ’s house and asked to buy the Proclaimer from her mother because one of them is blind. News had spread through the village about some instrument that proclaims God’s Word in the Altai language. That same news is spreading in every village. The number of churches is growing in the Republic. The believers also make SD card copies and share them.
"Many people repented and now they want to have a Mini Proclaimer in their village"
In another case, a leader of the traditional religion gathered a group of villagers to worship spirits and perform sacrifices at the top of a mountain. After this meeting, her husband was paralyzed and, one-by-one, about 10 people in the village died – causing great fear. Some months later, my husband visited relatives in this village and shared the Gospel in Altai using a Mini Proclaimer. Many people repented and now they want to have a Mini Proclaimer in their village because it is distant from the administrative center. As he left the region, my husband asked the main church in the administrative center to care for this new group of believers.
We would be so happy and thankful to be blessed with more Proclaimers for our work here.”
